THE ART AND SOUL OF DEJHOOR
This design collection was crafted as a heartfelt tribute to Kashmiri culture, drawing inspiration from the deeply symbolic dejhoor. More than just jewelry, the dejhoor embodies a legacy of faith, resilience, and spirituality. Its design reflects centuries-old Kashmiri traditions, where every element holds profound meaning. The two holes of the dejhoor represent the Jaya and Vijaya Shaktis within the Shatkona Yantra signifying balance and divine energy. The addition of the atah’or, gifted by the in-laws, symbolizes the blessings of Maha Lakshmi, marking the bride’s acceptance into her new family.
The dejhoor is more than an ornament-it is a talisman of protection, a celebration of marital harmony, and a bridge to one’s roots. For many Kashmiri women, especially those living away from the Valley, it is a timeless connection to heritage-a symbol of identity and comfort carrying the warmth of home. Steeped in Kashmiri Shaivism, its origins trace back to the goddess Parvati, embodying her marital devotion to Lord Shiva.
